Quick overview.

All Green Drain models use the same patented silicone valve design. They differ in pipe size, flow capacity, and available certifications. Every model is a drop-in install with no tools required.

Level C = controlled flow rate per ASSE 1072-2020. Level U = unrestricted flow rate. All values from IAPMO testing (File No. 9301).

Dimensions.

All measurements from IAPMO-certified testing. Housing diameter is measured without the compression gasket. Overall dimensions include the silicone gasket for fit verification.

All dimensions are nominal. Silicone gasket compresses during insertion for a watertight seal. Measure the internal diameter of your drain outlet, not the pipe size, for proper fit.

Flow rates.

Flow rates tested under ASSE 1072-2020 (Level C and Level U) by IAPMO, and independently verified by DTI (Danish Technological Institute) under EAD 180020-00-0704. DTI values represent real-world drainage capacity.

Pressure and sealing performance.

Pressure resistance tested by DTI under EAD 180020-00-0704 and EN 1253-1. Odour tightness confirmed across all models per CE/ETA-18/0536. These values determine suitability for specific building and plumbing code requirements.

Pressure resistance values are model-specific where DTI testing produced exact measurements. Models without individual DTI data use the conservative code-compliant baseline of >400 Pa, aligned with GD4 EAD compliance threshold. Odour tightness of 200 Pa (requirement: 180 Pa) applies to all models per CE/ETA-18/0536.

ASSE 1072-2020 performance (all models).

ASSE 1072-2020 is the North American performance standard for barrier-type floor drain trap seal devices. Testing was performed on the GD4, the most demanding commercial size. All Green Drain models share the same patented silicone membrane design, so performance is equivalent or better under lower flow conditions. These results apply across the full product line.

Tested by IAPMO R&T on the GD4 (4", DN100) as the representative model. ASSE 1072 testing is standardized, and the GD4 is the most demanding commercial size, making it the benchmark for opening sensitivity, durability, and evaporation control. Smaller models use the same silicone membrane design and perform equivalently or better under lower flow conditions.

Materials and construction.

All Green Drain models share the same material construction. The silicone valve membrane has been independently tested by CRT Laboratories for tear strength, chemical resistance, UV exposure, and temperature performance.
