We have been dealing with odors coming from the shower for the longest time. It wasn’t until I needed to find a solution because guests were staying in our condo. I started the search and this device was like magic, so easy to install and did the trick instantly. No more odor coming up from the drain.
Original Review: Water backs up and doesn’t drain well. Pushed it in more than 3 inches down to let the weight of the water open the drain but doesn’t alleviate the problem completely. 2 stars. Updated Review: well I didn’t get around to taking out the drain vent for a few days because we just had a baby, and I wanted to update to say the vent seems to have ‘broken in.’ A few showers after install its working just fine. So give it a few showers first before taking it out! Saved us a $8000 plumbing bill for now. Five stars now.
I got a quote from a plumber of over $3k to jack hammer my floors, put in a trap and redo the floors (I’d have to pay a tile person to fix all the broken tiles) someone suggested this and it popped right in and no more sewer smell coming up from the shower! Best $ I’ve spent

I bought this for an old house I am renting that doesn’t have a trap in the shower drain. The drain stank and I think it may have been causing allergic reactions. Since installing this guy, smell is gone and my eyes stopped itching! It also doesn’t cause a noticeable change in how fast the shower drains. Great device and worth every penny.
This eliminated smells from my basement drain and stopped the trap from drying out.
I installed this 3 years ago. One of the best buys I have made. It’s installed in a shower that is used daily. You will need to pull it and clean it after a few years. I’m buy a spare so when I pull to clean, I just install the new one. Then clean the old one to use when cleaning is necessary again.
Arrived early easy to install works as intended
Installed this 4 inch G Green Drain Waterless Trap Seal on the basement floor drain and it fit snug enough to create a very good seal. Installation was easy and only involved cleaning the drain opening and pushing the trap into place. The problem it resolved is that the tile drain from the early fifties has developed a small crack on the far side of the P-trap making it difficult to permanently patch it. The water level in the drain trap would gradually drop and allow sewer gasses to enter. I’ve never used one of these before so I guess I’ll call it a test run for the time being.
We had a floor drain in the basement, and the trap frequently dried out, resulting in a bad odor. This worked very nicely to eliminate the odor.
